About me

Nida provides client-centred, trauma-informed counselling and draws from CBT-informed, DBT-informed, mindfulness, solution-focused, and collaborative approaches. Her experience includes supporting adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, family violence, emotional distress, and complex psychosocial concerns.

Her approach is compassionate, practical, and collaborative. She works with clients to better understand their concerns, identify meaningful goals, develop coping and emotional-regulation skills, and connect with appropriate supports and resources. She also has extensive experience in psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, psychoeducation, referrals, and multidisciplinary care.

Nida has over five years of experience in mental health counselling, psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, intake, brief therapeutic support, referrals, case management, and community resource coordination. Her clinical experience includes working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, intimate partner and family violence, emotional distress, and complex psychosocial concerns.

Her counselling practice is grounded in a client-centred and trauma-informed approach, with interventions informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, solution-focused counselling, and psychoeducation. She works collaboratively with clients to understand their experiences, identify their goals, build practical coping strategies, strengthen emotional regulation and self-management skills, and determine appropriate next steps.

Nida also brings extensive experience in crisis assessment and intervention, safety planning, service navigation, referrals, and collaborative care. Her previous work includes supporting survivors of violence, individuals experiencing significant psychosocial stressors, and clients requiring coordinated support across healthcare and community services.

She believes that effective counselling should be collaborative, respectful, culturally responsive, and tailored to each client’s unique needs, strengths, circumstances, and goals.
