About me

Welcome to Kisa Therapy Clinic. My name is Mahtaab Manekia, and I’m a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families strengthen their relationships and find balance through life’s challenges. I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Stetson University and am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the American Counseling Association (ACA).

My journey into therapy began during the COVID-19 pandemic, when mental health challenges were on the rise and conversations around emotional well-being became more important than ever. Witnessing the stigma surrounding mental health in my community inspired me to be part of the change. Growing up in Tanzania and later moving to Canada and the U.S., I’ve seen how cultural and faith-based values shape the way we understand healing. I strive to create a safe and compassionate space that honors both personal and spiritual growth.

As a yoga instructor, I integrate mindfulness and body awareness into my sessions, helping clients reconnect with themselves and their relationships. Outside of therapy, I enjoy traveling, practicing yoga, and spending time with friends and family.
