About me
Salāmun ‘Alaykum!
My name’s Farwa, a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I view life through a God-centric, respect-focused, and social justice lens, recognizing the importance of the collective and relational aspects of human life. Supporting with empathy and compassion are core values that guide my interactions.
I recognize therapy can be intimidating for some and seeking out help, allowing another to witness the vulnerability we may feel, can be scary or overwhelming. Alternatively, you may be someone who is feeling confident in starting and are ready to embrace all that comes with therapy. Regardless of how you may feel, and it is perfectly normal to feel a range of different things towards this journey, I’m here to support you through it and take it one step at a time, meeting you where you’re at.
Having worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds and within various settings such as schools, hospitals, and community agencies, I truly believe that effective healing happens through taking a person-centered approach and one that includes and frames through the Divine lens. As I continue to expand on my knowledge of various modalities, I aim to utilize an integrative model, working within an overall humanistic and strengths-based approach, to collaboratively work with each individual to meet their unique needs.
The client-therapist relationship we build takes centre stage and is one of the most important factors in healing, so I encourage you to seek out a therapist that you’re comfortable with. Feel free to book a consultation to determine fit and explore what works for you. I would be honoured to walk alongside this journey with you!
